MARIANA OKA

PRODUCT DESIGNER

I design how new technology behaves around people.

More than a decade making difficult software make sense. Real-time 3D at Autodesk, spatial computing at Unity, decentralised storage at Pinata. I work in the codebase, not just the mockup.

IT NEVER GETS HUNGRY. FEEDING IT IS FOR YOU.

Hi, I'm Mariana , a product designer based in London . For more than a decade I've designed software before its patterns existed: real-time 3D at Autodesk , spatial computing at Unity , decentralised storage at Pinata . Now I design AI agents people can actually trust, and I build them in the codebase . Away from the screen I take photographs and fall down rabbit holes .

LAB

02 EXPERIMENTS

Self-initiated work, made to find out whether something would hold up. No brief, no client, and nothing to protect. This is where the writing and the art direction live.

Earlier work

Projects I have not written up in full. Some predate the work above, some never had assets worth keeping. Listed for scope, with a number where there is one worth stating.

  • SENTIENT FUTURES

    2026

Ideosphere: forecasting what prediction markets overlook

Built with Rei Nova and Niki Dupuis in the Sentient Futures incubator. AI agents set baseline forecasts on neglected questions, like AI moral status, digital minds and animal welfare, and human forecasters compete against them. The disagreement becomes calibrated signal for researchers, policymakers and funders. The alpha is live.

  • FLOAT HUB

Launching a London float centre from a logo and a lease

Brand, site and art direction for a sensory-deprivation spa, at the marketing agency I co-founded. It opened with more than 200% of its founding-membership goal within two months, and reached number one of 800+ London spas on TripAdvisor within three.

  • AXIOM ZEN

    2016

    A shared room in VR

Built in Unity for Google Cardboard, running on both Android and iPhone. A shared virtual room where people could watch exclusive content with friends, from wherever they actually were. Mobile VR in 2016 meant every frame was a budget negotiation.
